Alan and Stewart

‘The ground gave way beneath me. I bounced off the side of the cliff on the way down. With my arm broken, my attempt to grab a tree was in vain. Once I landed I tried to move, but every time I’d pass out from the pain.’

Stewart, rescued by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter

We introduced Stewart to someone who helped save him, Alan – a regular donor to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

Great grandad Stewart was 86 years old when rescued after falling 30m down a cliff at the back of his property. Stewart suffered five breaks to his back, three to his neck not to mention arm, shoulder and ribs. He maintains he wouldn’t have survived if not for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

To help save people like Stewart the choppers rely on donations from everyday people, like Alan, and you. Donate now.
