What is the Chopper Appeal?

Every year, the Westpac Chopper Appeal raises funds to support New Zealand’s rescue helicopters. By donating to or fundraising for Chopper Appeal, your business will directly support your local chopper, its crew, and its life-saving rescue missions.

How it works

Plan and organise a fundraiser

Decide how you’d like to raise funds for your local chopper and start planning. To help you get started, we've listed some fundraising ideas below.

Bring everyone together

Involve and invite anyone who might be interested in your fundraising event – including employees, vendors, partners, friends and family.

Donate funds to your local chopper

Collect the funds you’ve raised and donate them online or in-branch by 30 June 2025 to make sure they're included in this year's Chopper Appeal.

Donate the funds

You can visit the donation page, use Westpac One® digital banking or visit a branch. If you don’t bank with Westpac, contact our Westpac Chopper Appeal Team to get the right account numbers.

Get a donation receipt

If you’ve donated online, your donation receipt will be sent to the email address you supplied. If you’re donating at a branch, make sure to request a receipt from the Westpac team member processing your donation.

Share your fundraiser on social media

Don’t forget to post about your fundraiser using the hashtag #ChopperChallenge2025 to be in to win one of four $500 Westpac Prepaid cards.
